When her husband returned, she narrated the entire ordeal and the couple went to mill authorities to complain against the driver and were assured action against Ahmad. However, when they went for a follow up the next day, they were held hostage inside the mill for two hours, the compalint said. The woman claimed that they were released after the intervention of corporator of ward number 13, Ranjeet.
On Friday, the couple went to Hata Kotwali police station and lodged an FIR against the driver. “On the basis of her complaint, an FIR under IPC section 376 has been lodged against the accused and manhunt has been launched to nab him,” SHO, Hata Kotwali, Harendra Mishra said.
Asked if action was initiated against the mill management for holding the accused and her husband captive to hush up the case, he said, “All allegations against the sugar mill management is a subject of investigation.”
However, mill GM Karan Singh denied the charges, saying, “The driver and the labourer had a clash over some issue which was later resolved. The allegation of rape is false and it is a conspiracy to defame the sugar mill.”
