VARANASI: While the local unit of
Samajwadi Party (SP) has expressed its determination to paralyse the functioning of government offices from March 7 to 9, the district administration and police have also geared up their exercise to foil such a bid.
SP's district unit president
Akhilesh Mishra told reporters on Friday that as a part of the party's statewide stir, the local unit workers would also stage a massive demonstration at the district headquarters for three days. He said party chief
Mulayam Singh Yadav had given a call for mass movement to uproot the Bahujan Samaj Party government in UP against its anti-farmer policies, atrocities, dictatorial attitude and increasing cases of rape. He said due to the corrupt practices in local government offices, sufferings of people had also increased. He said party workers would not allow work in any government office during the agitation.

During the meeting, the officials chalked out the strategies to maintain law and order in the district. After the meeting, the DM told TOI that the district administration and police were prepared to meet any situation. He said nobody would be allowed to cause disturbance in the district or at any office. He said any bid to disturb functioning of government offices would be crushed.
