Social Media Clash: Cong leader held, FIR against BJP activist

Varanasi: A woman and two others, including her husband, were arrested on the charges of rioting and other offences on Sunday night after they raided the house of one Rajesh Singh in Premchand Nagar and assaulted him and his family members for posting objectionable comments against her on social media.
The woman Roshani Kushal Jaiswal is associated with the Congress party, and she has also lodged an FIR against Singh. The three were arrested by Lalpur Pandeypur police and sent to jail after being produced before the court on Monday.
ACP Cantt Vidush Saxena on Monday said that on the complaint of Singh, an FIR was lodged against Roshani Kushal Jaiswal, her husband Kushal Jaiswal and their aide under section 191(2) (rioting), 333 (house trespass with intention to assault), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult to provoke for committing offence), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 76 (criminal force against woman with intent to disrobe her), 304(2) (snatching), and 324(2) of BNS with Lalpur police station on Sunday evening.
Another FIR was lodged against Singh on the complaint of the Jaiswals under section 115 (2), 352, 351(2), 75(2) (explicit sexual overture), 304 (2) of BNS and also sections of the IT Act. After going through video evidence, the Jaiswal couple and their aide were arrested and sent to jail after being produced before the court on Monday, said the ACP adding that further investigation is continuing in both the cases.
In her complaint, Roshani alleged that Singh, who operates his social media account in the name of Saffron Rajesh Singh, had been making highly objectionable comments on her social media posts and had recently threatened to make her pregnant. After this Jaiswal couple, along with their supporter, raided Singh's house.
They had a fight and a video of this went viral on social media.
Later, the Jaiswals reached Lalpur Pandeypur police station on Sunday afternoon, while Singh and his supporters also reached there. The high voltage drama continued till late evening.
