VARANASI: The Azamgarh police busted a gang of frauds involved in duping people in the name of arranging their marriage by arresting six of its members including three women on Monday.

The gang came on the radar of Azamgarh police after one Satbir Prajapati of Hisar district in Haryana had lodged an FIR with Phoolpur police on Sunday alleging that Aradhna had called him for arranging his brother’s marriage. The gang charged Rs 60,000 for arranging a marriage by providing fake Adhaar card and marriage certificate to them. Later, they used to flee with the jewellery gifted to the bride and cash. Police were trying to collect criminal history of this gang members.
