Seven criminals arrested on Holi eve in Azamgarh

VARANASI: On the eve of Holi, the Azamgarh police succeeded in nabbing seven members of two gangs of criminals at different places in the district on Wednesday.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, the police arrested five criminals including Rakesh Yadav of Azamgarh district, Dilip Pathak, Mithilesh, Bhagan Lal and Mayank Singh, all natives of Ambedkar Nagar district, in Atrauliya area.The police recovered three dire arms, live cartridges and Rs 8,000 from them. They were involved in many cases of loot in several districts.
In another incident the police arrested two criminals Pravin Pandey of Azamgarh district and Naveen Pandey of Ambedkar Nagar district in Ahiraula area. They were involved in many cases of loot and murder. The police recovered a pistol, cartridges, a stolen motorcycle and Rs 2,700 from them.
