Seminar organized to discuss provisions of VAT tax
Various provisions of UP Value Added Tax Act were discussed during a seminar organized at one of the hotels in Cantonment area on Sunday.
Inaugurating the programme, Alok Farsia, senior chartered accountant (Agra) said that some of the provisions under the act especially the VAT auditing of Form -23 were not clear while some others are difficult to practice.
Joint Commissioner, Commercial Tax, OP Rai and a number of CAs in the region were also present on the occasion.
The Varanasi Branch of Central India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India had organized the program.
SBI pensioners meet: A number of issues related to pensioners of State Bank of India (SBI) were raised during the annual pensioners meet organized at ranch of SBI pensioners association on Sunday.
Some of the issues including revision of dearness allowance (DA) and provisions for 50% payment of pension (on monthly basis) at the time of retirement of employees were also raised in the meet.
The assistant general manager, SBI zonal office, Suresh Chandra and divisional secretary, SBI pensioners' association, A Q Alawi were also present on the occasion.
