Varanasi: Initiating action under Gangster Act, Azamgarh police seized immovable properties of jailed mafia don
Dhruv Singh alias Kuntu Singh’s aide Sanjay Yadav on Sunday. Azamgarh SP Anil Kumar said on Sunday that under ongoing drive to curb crime and destroy economic empire created with ill-begotten wealth, Yadav’s illegally acquired 0.636 hectares land across for separate plot numbers (gatas), was detected by police.
To confiscate it, a report was sent to the district magistrate by police and after DM’s order, formalities of attaching Yadav’s property worth Rs 6.2 crore under Section 14(1) of Gangster Act were completed. Yadav’s plots were in Jigarsandi and Anei villages and were purchased in the name of his brother and sister-in-law.
