Political analyst Kaushal Kishore Mishra no more

Varanasi: Prof Kaushal Kishore Mishra, former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at BHU and a prominent figure in political and social discourse, passed away due to illness at BHU's SSL Hospital early morning on Thursday. He was 67.
According to family sources, Prof. Mishra had been battling a lung infection and was admitted to the hospital, where his condition deteriorated, leading to his transfer to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his illness. His body was consigned to flames at Harishchandra Ghat in the afternoon. Prof Mishra is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son.
Born on May 1, 1957, Prof Mishra was an alumnus of BHU, graduating in Political Science in 1977. He went on to become a distinguished academician at the same institution, earning recognition for his expertise in political science.
Beyond academia, Prof Mishra was known for his association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His views on social and political issues made him a popular figure, particularly at his daily gathering spot, ‘Aadi', near the famous Pappu's tea shop in the Assi area.
Prof Mishra was also active on social media, where he openly expressed his opinions on various issues. His involvement in RSS activities and his role as a political commentator earned him widespread respect.
