“We have targeted a gathering of over 25,000 women. Varanasi parliamentary seat has 1,909 booths and a minimum of 10 women from each booth will take part in it”, she said.
During the NSS, the entire responsibility of the NSS, including that of receiving the PM, stage management and other arrangements are being done by the women’s wing. Preparations being made at the SSU ground and also by the party cadres hint that a glimpse of India’s pluralistic culture will remain evident at the NSS venue as women will dress up in traditional attires of different regions including Marathi, Bengali, west and south India to take part in the event. The party is mobilizing women from all sections of the society for their participation.
According to the party sources, the PM had expressed a wish to hold an event of women power in his parliamentary constituency and the party top brass is leaving no stone unturned to make the proposed NSS a mega success. Two days ahead of the NSS, BJP national general secretary Sunil Bansal reached here and camped in the city to monitor the preparations. Bansal held a series of meetings with poll management team and women wing office-bearers and also mobilised them to work with full dedication for third consecutive victory of Modi
Bansal also assigned five-point tasks to the women’s wing including preparing a list of the women who were earlier associated with the BJP, activating them again by holding dialogues with former office bearers of the wing, inviting them to attend NSS and giving responsibility to bring others. He also asked the women’s wing to create teams at each booth and also rope in social and other organisations including Bhajan Mandalis to mobilise women voters.
Party Kashi region media in-charge Navratan Rathi said that the party cadres and women wing were also carrying out door-to-door campaign.
Regarding the PM’s proposed visit, the officials said that he will arrive in late afternoon and after addressing NSS at SSU ground he will leave for the BLW guest house by road for night stay.
