National youth day observed in city

VARANASI: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda (National Youth Day), a series of programmes were organized in the city.
The Malaviya Centre for Ethics and Human Values, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), organized a seminar on "The moral development of Indian society: the inspiration of Swami Vivekananda", at Malviya Bhawan. The seminar was addressed by Swami Neelkanthanandji Maharaj from Ramkrishna Sevashram, Varanasi.
Besides, a two-day seminar on academic achievements through promotion of health was also organized in the campus by the department of extension education, Institute of Agricultural Sciences on Sunday and Monday. The objective of the event was to educate the youth about preventive health care measures including social, psychological and spiritual aspects of health promotion and protection.
On the other hand, a public meeting was held by Hindu Yuva Vahini at Vivekananda memorial in Nadesar area to highlight the message of Vivekananda.
