Name confusion gets the wrong man released

VARANASI: The court had issued orders to release Ashok Singh of Bhelupur area but the district jail authorities released Ashok Singh of Phoolpur.
Yes, this mistake of the jail authorities came to light when the family members of Ashok Singh of Bhelupur reached the jail on Sunday to know why he was not released despite the court orders handed over to the jail authorities on Saturday.Initially the jail authorities informed them that Ashok was released. But when his family members claimed that he was not released, the jail authorities tried to search him. They were taken aback to see that Ashok was really present in the jail.
Afterwards they checked their records to know who was released in his place. Finally they found that Ashok Singh of Phoolpur was released in the place of Ashok of Bhelupur on Saturday evening. The matter was reported to the police and jail officials heaved a sigh of relief when Ashok Singh of Phoolpur was brought back to the jail. Finally, Ashok was released on Sunday afternoon. Superintendent of district jail, Ram Kumar Tripathi admitted that his subordinates committed a `mistake'.
