VARANASI: When hate speeches are common to incite communal feelings for political gain, a rare sight of Muslim women performing aarti of Lord
Rama and celebrating Ramnavmi and singing bhajans, keeps hope of a tolerant society alive.
To give a message of communal harmony, a group of Muslim women celebrated Ramnavmi at Vishal Bharat Sansthan in Lallapura locality on Tuesday.
They performed 'aarti', wrote 'Ram-naam' and sang in praise of the deity.
"Ram is our ancestor, he is an ideal of humanity," said Nazneen Ansari, who composed 'aarti' of Ram in Urdu. Nazneen had also translated Ramcharitmanas and Hanuman Chalisa authored by legendary poet Tulsidas, Durga Chalisa (verses in praise of goddess Durga) in Urdu. She said that she is a Muslim and believes that there is no scope of hatred in any religion. Nazneen had also recited Hanuman Chalisa at famous Sankat Mochan Temple after the terrorist blast in 2006.
