VARANASI: In an incident, cash worth Rs 5.32 lakh of a firm was looted from its employee at Fatmaan Road under Sigra police station on Saturday.
According to reports, Rajkumar Jaiswal runs his firm in Varunapul area. On Saturday morning, his employee, Raju Soni, left the firm on his bicycle to deposit cash Rs 5.32 lakh in Sigra branch of a private bank.

The cash was kept in a bag.
When Soni was passing through Fatmaan Road, two bike borne miscreants hit his head with an iron rod. Soni fell on the road after which the miscreants hit him again with the rod to snatch the bag containing cash. They escaped from the scene.
The loot on a busy road led to sensation in Fatmaan area. Some locals reported the matter to the police. The news of incident brought the officials on their toes. Soni was taken to Sigra police station where the cops also summoned the owner of firm to know about the past record of Soni. After the trader gave Soni a clean chit, the cops intensified their efforts to nab the miscreants. However, no arrest was reported in this connection so far.
Basant Rajbhar (35), a native of Ashapur under Sarnath police station, committed suicide by hanging himself by the ceiling of his room on Friday night.
According to reports, Rajbhar had some financial problem due to which he asked his wife not to go to her parents house to observe the festival of Chhath. But, his wife left home with her elder son. Frustrated, Rajbhar ended his life. The incident came to light when his two children entered his room on Saturday morning and informed their neighbours about the incident. The body was sent for postmortem.
