VARANASI: An auto driver surrendered to the police after murdering his wife brutally in Mughalsarai area of Chandauli district on Wednesday.
According to reports, Danish, a native of Kasab locality of Mughalsarai area runs auto to earn livelihood. He was married to Rubina (30) seven years back.
The couple had a daughter and three sons. For the past few months they used to have frequent arguments. On Wednesday, they had a quarrel following which Danish thrashed Rubina and slit her throat. Later he reached Mughalsarai police station and surrendered for killing his wife.
He informed the police that his wife fled with Rs 50,000 cash, and returned after the money was spent. He said that he killed her as he suspected her being in illicit relations. Police have sent the body for postmortem after registering a murder case in this connection.
Meanwhile, a woman was found hanging on the ceiling of her house in Jamunipur BIDA colony of Bhadohi district.
Some local natives noticed the body of Priti Gupta (25) and informed the police. The police reached there and sent the body for postmortem after informing Priti's parents.
According to reports, Priti of Pratapgarh was married to Vishal Gupta of Jaunpur last year.
Vishal worked in an insurance company in Bhadohi while Priti had completed her MBA recently. Police said that whether it was a case of suicide or murder would only become clear after arrival of postmortem report.
