Lax cops face action in Varanasi, Bhadohi

Varanasi: For allowing investigations to linger and lack of interest in other duties, police commissioner Mohit Agrawal suspended in-charges of Chandmari and Lalpur police outposts.Superintendent of police, Bhadohi, Abhimanyu Manglik also attached inspector, Bhadohi, Ashwini Tripathi to the Police Lines for negligence in duty.While reviewing progress in investigation of crime cases, traffic management and law and order late on Tuesday evening, the commissioner of police suspended Chandmari outpost in-charge Jitendra Kumar Verma and Lalpur outpost in-charge Prashant Pandey for negligence in their duties. The CO issued a clear warning to the outpost in-charges and police station heads to either perform and avoid unnecessary delays in completing investigations or be prepared to face consequences. He mentioned that the evaluation of their work is being done based on parameters provided in the Chief Minister Dashboard, on which the Varanasi police commissionerate was in the seventh position in the state. It was instructed that a list of the top-10 criminals and history-sheeters should be displayed at all police stations. People from commercial establishments, financial institutions and newly developing colonies are encouraged to install CCTV cameras.Contacting the applicant is mandatory for resolving petitions. If the applicant is dissatisfied, the reason for dissatisfaction must be clearly mentioned. The investigation report will be resolved only after ACP approval. Police should behave courteously with complainants. Upon receiving IGRS complaints, it is mandatory to communicate with the complainant and inspect the site. The satisfaction of the complainant is the basis for evaluating the investigating officer. Regarding traffic regulation exercises, he said feedback is being collected every two hours from police stations, traffic police and the control room at 35 identified high-traffic locations. In action against loudspeakers and DJs, cases should be registered along with seizures. Additional CP (crime) Rajesh Kumar Singh, all Deputy CPs and ACPs were present at the meeting.In Bhadohi district, the SP took serious note of complaints of negligence and laxity in duty by police personnel in the district. In the same connection, Bhadohi police station in-charge Ashwani Tripathi was attached to the line for negligence in duty. He ordered his replacement by inspector Sachidanand Pandey and warned all police to either perform or be prepared to face consequences.
