Labour Dept boycotted work

VARANASI: The labour department officials and employees, associated with Shram Vibhag Adhikari Association, Shram Pravartan Adhikari Sangh, and Shram Vibhag Karmachari Sangh, boycotted work and held a meeting at labour office, Nati Imli in protest against the recent attack on the labour commissioner Sitaram Meena at Kanpur.
Denouncing the attack, the speakers demanded immediate arrest of the attackers.The labour offices are not safe enough a place to work, they said and demanded a police picket near the labour office. The meeting was addressed by additional labour commissioner D K Kanchan, assistant labour commissioner V R Singh, V K Srivastava, Ramendra Kumar Singh, S K Lal, Ramji Upadhyaya and others.
