Varanasi: After retaining the mayoral office of Varanasi Municipal Corporation for
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),
Ashok Tiwari gave all the credit to Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath and people of
Kashi for his victory.
“On becoming mayor of Kashi, my first task will be to take the city at number one rank in Swachh Sarvekshan as the PM had launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan from this city,” said Tiwari while talking to TOI after winning the election on Saturday evening.
Tiwari said that the vision and guidance of the PM and able leadership of the CM had transformed the image of Kashi and UP. Now, when the people of Kashi have blessed me, I would be leaving no stone unturned to bring relief to them by making efforts to find out a permanent solution for traffic chaos, he added.
We will ensure that all urban facilities reach the 87 villages included in the limits of VMC at the earliest, he said while spelling out his top priorities. Issues of traders fraternity and city markets including of wholesale would also be taken up prominently.
