IIVR Kashi guides farmers on veggie farming techniques

Varanasi: A symposium on ‘Vegetable farming for economic prosperity' was organised by the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR), Varanasi, in collaboration with Banvasi Seva Ashram, Govindpur Sonbhadra, for farmers of this region on Monday.
IIVR chief scientist D R Bhardwaj, provided detailed information on production techniques, including hybrid and advanced varieties of vegetables.
Principal scientist Kuldeep Srivastava gave comprehensive information on beekeeping. Principal scientist Sudarshan Maurya elaborated on organic disease control and mushroom cultivation using organic alternatives. Scientist Shreya Pawar provided detailed information on post-harvest management of vegetables, while project investigator Neeraj Singh explained how tribal project played leading role in making farmers prosperous through vegetable cultivation in this area.
On the occasion, IIVR director Nagendra Rai assured continuous support to farmers of the region.
