60 prize recipients to be honoured at BHU convocation
Varanasi: The 13th convocation of the IIT (BHU), scheduled for October 28, will honour graduating students and recognise 60 exceptional medalists for their outstanding achievements in academics and leadership. Medals will be presented by union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.The most prestigious honours of the day will be the President's Gold Medal and the Director's Gold Medal. The former, presented for the highest academic performance across all undergraduate programmes, will be awarded to chemical engineering student Aditya Kumar Nayak, while the latter, for all-round excellence, will go to Bhavya Malhotra from electrical engineering department. Additionally, 17 M.Tech students will be recognised for their academic distinction, including Atith Vidyadhar Chitnis (Biochemical Engineering), Sharon Roy (Biomedical Engineering), Akash Gupta (Ceramic Engineering), Rubal Jain (Chemical Engineering), Himanshu Yadav (Civil Engineering, R.P. Singh Gold Medal), Akhil Rao (Computer Science & Engineering), Harsh Hasmukhbhai Shah (Decision Sciences & Engineering), Akhil Kumar Jha (Electrical Engineering), Sriharsha Deevi (T.N. Srivastava Memorial Award), Gummuluri Pavan Kumar (Electronics Engineering), Suvrateshwar Kumar Dwivedi (Sanjeev Memorial Gold Medal in Electronics Engineering), Ashis Halder (Materials Science & Technology), Tejasvi Singh (Mechanical Engineering), Devendra Pratap Singh (S.K. Memorial Gold Medal for M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering), Dhruva Mehrotra (Metallurgical Engineering), Jatin (Pharmaceutical Engineering), Sagar Acharjee (Chemistry), and Anubhav Mishra (Physics).In the Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) category, outstanding performances will also be recognised, including Aditi Sammi (Biochemical Engineering), Alagu Oviya K.P. (Bioengineering), Parvathaneni Divya Sree (Ceramic Engineering), Nanwani Lavina Ajay (Industrial Chemistry), Piyush Kumar (Civil Engineering), Dhruv Gupta (Computer Science & Engineering), Antara Banerjee (Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics), Eeshan Ketkar (Materials Science & Technology), Masetty Gayathri (Mathematics and Computing), Lisa Khuntia (Mechanical Engineering), Sai Saswat Tripathy (Metallurgical Engineering), Jayant Jain (Mining Engineering), Sagorika Nag (Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology), and Pathma Eswaran (Engineering Physics).Among the B.Tech medalists, Pokala Gouthami Sree will be recognised as the top female achiever in Chemical Engineering, while Navvay Dhingra and Geetika Singh will be honoured for excellence in Civil Engineering. Darshil Agrawal will be celebrated for his outstanding performance in Computer Science & Engineering, and Ruhi Asitkumar Joshi will receive the highest CPI among female students in the same field. Muskan Gupta will be honoured for her achievements in Environmental Engineering. Anish Kumar will lead Mechanical Engineering, with Shreya Sinha as the top female in the discipline. Aryan Gupta will be awarded for excellence in Metallurgical Engineering, with Tisha Sharma as the top female achiever in this field.
