IIT-BHU centenary celebrations: CM to attend inaugural ceremony

Varanasi: As a part of its centenary year celebrations, the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) will hold a four-day Global Alumni meet from February 9 to 12.

Talking to reporters on Monday, IIT (BHU) director Prof PK Jain said the inauguration ceremony will be attended by CM Yogi Adityanath on February 9 while minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha will attend the centenary celebrations on February 11. Organising secretary of Global Alumni Meet and member of the Board of Governors Nitin Malhotra said a workshop will be organised followed by a start-up pitch by the students.

On February 10, the 1969 batch will be honoured followed by a cultural programme ‘Virasat’ by Spic Macay in the evening. Odishi dancer Sujata Mohapatra and classical music singer Sanjeev Abhyankar will be performing in the programme. After closing ceremony on Februray 11 alumni will go for Kumbh Darshan on February 12.
