‘Humans sophisticated robots with real intelligence’

Varanasi: More than 1,800 students from over 100 schools from Varanasi and adjoining districts are participating in the three day mega annual science festival Pragyan-2026, organised for students from Class 6 -12 at BHU campus from April 10 to 12.

The participating students showcased innovative science models, posters and took part in quiz and hands-on experiments. Special science workshops, led by Robotics Club and Aero Modelling Club of IIT-BHU, and live science shows are the major highlights of the event. The event was organised by a student-led education initiative Make India Scientific, comprising students from IMS-BHU and IIT-BHU.

Attending the event, former Isro chairman Padma Shri Prof AS Kiran Kumar explained the entire journey of space activity of India, renowned physicist and astronomer Prof Vikram Sarabhai’s visionary thoughts and the success story of Chandrayaan-3. He encouraged students to use their own sensory powers to create history, ask right questions, and note observations from nature. He said, “Humans are sophisticated robots with real intelligence and young students should be explorers and use the power of science and technology to take the nation ahead”

Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof RK Srivastava, said that the science festival is indeed very special since there is involvement of three generations with Gen Z, Gen Alpha and is organised by Gen Y. Student advisor of Institute of Science, BHU Prof Madhu G Tapadia said “There are no short cuts to success and one has to think out of the box and have the right question in mind to gain success in life”.
