Harmony & devotion are Sanatan’s core strength: CM

Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that dignity, spiritual vibrancy, devotion and social harmony form the core strength of Sanatan Dharm, asserting that Uttar Pradesh embodies these values through its civilisational legacy.Addressing a large gathering at the launch of the traditional "Rangbhari Shobhayatra" of Lord Narsingh from the city's Ghantaghar area on Holi, Yogi underlined the importance of preserving India's heritage. The procession was organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Shri Holikotsav Samiti.Referring to major religious redevelopment projects across the country, the CM said India today takes pride in its cultural resurgence. He cited the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor in Varanasi, the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Mahakal Lok corridor in Ujjain, and the redevelopment of Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines in Uttarakhand, among others, as examples of heritage conservation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. "This is how the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' is being realised," he said.Calling UP the "soul of India", Yogi said Ayodhya symbolises ‘maryada' (dignity), Varanasi represents eternal consciousness, Mathura-Vrindavan reflects devotion, and Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam exemplifies social harmony where people from all sections take a holy dip without discrimination. He added that attempts to divide society along caste lines weaken the nation and urged people to associate themselves with the vision of a developed India.The chief minister also noted that this year's Holi celebrations coincide with the centenary year of the RSS. Praising the RSS for its discipline and commitment to national unity, he said its volunteers have dedicated their lives to preserving Sanatan traditions and strengthening social cohesion.He remarked that while several parts of the world are witnessing unrest, India is celebrating festivals with enthusiasm and harmony. "There is no fear or anarchy here. The spirit of ‘Satyamev Jayate' resonates everywhere," he said.Earlier, RSS prant pracharak Ramesh ji welcomed the chief minister and recalled that the colour-filled procession in Gorakhpur was started 81 years ago by Nanaji Deshmukh. After his address, the CM performed aarti of Lord Narsingh and joined the celebrations, showering flower petals and gulal on the crowd amid chants of "Jai Shri Ram" and "Har Har Mahadev".
