area on Saturday night. PAC constable RavindraNathYadav
was also arrested for providing shelter to Biradar

police succeeded in tracing Biradar
in the district and raided the house of Ravindra
, who is a constable in 34th
battalion of PAC. Biradar
tried to escape after opening fire but the cops nabbed him. Ravindra
was also arrested. The recovered pistol was used used in opening fire on Ajay Khalnayak
and killing Satish
Singh. On May 4, BKD
and his accomplices had opened indiscriminate fire on Ajay Khalnayak
, former block chief and aide of mafia don Brijesh
Singh, at Taktakpur
when he was returning home with his wife in an SUV. Before the police could workout the case, Satish
Singh, another henchman and cousin of Brijesh
, was eliminated by BKD
and his shooters in Dhaurahra
village on July 3. These two attacks on Brijesh
gang had increased the possibility of beginning of fresh gang war in the region. The crime branch of district police and STF were engaged to work out these cases. Rajesh alias Rakesh Yadav, Raghvendra Pratap Singh, Varun Singh, Rajesh Singh and Kamlesh Singh Hakadu were arrested in past weeks. BKD, Biradar and Namvar Yadav were absconding. IG GL Meena had announced cash rewards of Rs 15,000 on each of these absconding gangsters. TNNwhile a recommendation of increasing the reward amount up to Rs 50,000 had also been made to the DGP.
Mishra said that during both the attacks the shooters had used .9mm pistols while empty shells of 30 bore pistol were also recovered from the incident sites. He said that the same 30 bore foreign-made pistol was recovered from Biradar. During interrogation, Biradar said that Ajay Khalnayak was on the target of BKD as he was involved in the attack on BKD's cousin while Rajesh Singh had trade rivalry with him. He disclosed that after both these attacks they had taken shelter at the place of Namvar Yadav in Ghazipur before fleeing in different directions. He also disclosed the names of persons who had given shelter to him.
