VARANASI: An FIR was lodged against traders of Orderly Bazaar on Saturday for assaulting a police constable.
According to reports, two groups of traders clashed in Orderly Bazaar in the morning. A constable reached there and tried to intervene. The traders attacked the cop. More policemen rushed to spot. The assailants had fled by then. A named FIR against four traders was lodged.

Theft: Cash worth Rs 4.15 lakhs were stolen from the cash box of an automobile showroom in Aktha Pahadia area in Sarnath on Friday. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when the showroom was opened. During police investigation, it came to light that thieves had broke into the showroom building through its service centre. Police also called dog squad but failed to get clues.
Thieves also broke into a house in Kapaphorva village in Jansa and decamped with Rs 30,000 and valuables worth of Rs 1.20 lakh.
Accidental death: A security guard of a bank was killed when his gun triggered off accidentally in Dunkinganj area under Katra Kotwali police station in Mirzapur district on Saturday.
According to reports, a Delhi based private security agency had engaged Bhupendra of Babura village as armed security guard at a bank in Dunkinganj area. Reports stated that Bhupendra was busy in preparing tobacco when his double barrel gun fell from his shoulder. Bhupendra tried to catch his gun when it was triggered off and he suffered bullet injuries.

The sound of firing led to chaos in and outside the bank. When the bank staff and customers came out the bank they saw the body of Bhupendra lying in a pool of blood.
The mystery of fire was cleared when the close circuit television camera's footage was checked, informed the inspector Katra Kotwali Shafiq Ahmed. The body was sent for postmortem.
