(30) were allegedly beaten to death by a local youth in Soyepur Chhavani area under Lalpur-Pandeypur police station area on Sunday night.
The police have arrested a local youth in this connection.
According to reports, Jalaluddin, who was a daily wager, and his son were sleeping along the roadside. A local resident

, who was passing through the locality in an inebriated condition at around midnight, allegedly started beating them badly with a wooden log.
Hearing their cries, the local residents rushed to their rescue. But Dashmi fled from the scene.
The seriously injured father-son were rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Sensation prevailed in the area after the killing.
On the complaint of Jalaluddin’s other son, Javed, police have lodged an FIR against Dashmi and arrested him on Monday.
The commissioner of police A Satish Ganesh said that the FIR was lodged under sections 302 (murder) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of
IPC
. Further investigation is underway.
