GORAKHPUR: The police arrested former MLA Raju Singh from Baghouchghat turn at Fazilnagar in
Kushinagar
late Tuesday evening and was handed over to Delhi STF on Wednesday.
Singh was accused of injuring a woman in celebratory firing during New Year celebrations in Delhi.
"With the help of the SUV's number given by the Delhi STF, the Patherwa police arrested Raju Singh and his driver Hari Singh late on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, he was handed over to Delhi STF in Kushinagar. The STF sleuths also seized the SUV," said inspector Rajiv Kumar Singh, Fazilnagar police post under Patherwa police station.
When SHO Patherwa, Sanjay Mishra, was asked about details, he said, "The Delhi police seeked our help and cooperation and we arrested the
ex-MLA
along with his driver."
The former MLA Raju Singh was celebrating New Year at his residence in Delhi and during celebratory firing, Archana Gupta, wife of businessman Vikas Gupta was injured and Singh fled the scene.
