GORAKHPUR: The sixth phase polling of assembly elections saw several youngsters, first-time voters, differently-abled people heading for the polling booths in Gorakhpur.
The selfie point at each booth was the centre of attraction as most of the voters were seen taking selfies and making it memorable.
Keeping with the trend among the youngsters, many innovative selfie points were put up at each polling booth in the city - the best was at booth number 249, where a special selfie point was created on a baggie (cart).
Among the voters, 93-year-old
Bal Krishna Sarraf
was all smiles to cast vote. Such was her enthusiam that 81-year-old
Mewati Devi
came to cast her vote at a primary school,
Dumri Sahjanwa
, with her son on a bicycle.
Smita Singh, 19, from Asuran came to the polling booth with her mother Shobha. She said that her vote would be for a candidate who promised the best for the area. She came two days back from Lucknow, where she is pursuing a fashion designing course.
Singh said that she was not willing to miss the opportunity to vote for the first time. A disabled man, Suraj Kumar, came on a tricycle to vote and said that voting is his right and that he believes in the constitution.
Kumar said he voted for development and good governance.
