VARANASI: As Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has undertaken 'Kisan Yatra' to highlight the plight of farmers in poll-bound UP, a 'Kisan Maang Yatra' was flagged off by his party leaders in the holy city on Friday.
Congress MLA Ajay Rai flagged off a cavalcade at Bharat Mata temple in Sigra area that embarked on 'Kisan Maang Yatra', which will cover all the eight constituencies of the district.
1x1 polls

"As a part of Rahul Gandhi's month-long 'Deoria to Delhi Kisan Yatra', we have initiated Kisan Maang Yatras aimed at covering all the constituencies, spokesperson of UP Congress Committee (UPCC)," said Satish Rai.
According to Rai, the yatra will be marked by a door-to-door campaign in around 25,000 houses and collect 'Kisan Mangpatras' (charters of three demands of farmers) and affix it outside their homes.
The Congressmen would act as messenger who would give Gandhi's message of a just loan-waiver package for them (farmers) similar to the big industrialists whose loans are waived by Narendra Modi government, said Rai.
