Coach attendant, two others caught with smuggled goods at Mughalsarai railway station

Railway Police personnel caught three persons including a railway coach attendant with

smuggled

foreign goods at

Mughalsarai

railway station in Chandauli district on Tuesday. They were handed over to custom department for further action. According to reports, during checking drive the GRP personnel caught two persons with the luggage unloaded from the almirah of coach attendant (coach number-3) of

Jodhpur-Howrah

express Abdul Quadir. The arrested persons were identified as Nijil Kumar of Jaipur district (Rajasthan) and Rajesh Berva of

Tonk

district (Rajasthan).

The GRP inspector Tripurari Pandey said that during interrogation they confessed their involvement in smuggling of foreign goods from Bangkok to Jaipur via Kolkata. The GRP recovered foreign confectionary goods packed in 19 bags. They were carrying the goods to Jaipur. The arrested persons were handed over to custom officials, and the matter was intimated to railway authorities for action against the coach attendant.
