CM to open IT park in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Adding another milestone to its growing list of achievements, Gorakhpur is set to witness the launch of an IT startup ecosystem with the inauguration of a Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre in the GIDA area. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the facility on Thursday, officials said.Developed over 3.5 acres at a cost of Rs 20 crore, the IT park has been set up in Sector-7 of Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) with support from the state government. The centre, established by Software Technology Parks of India under the Union ministry of electronics and information technology, aims to provide a major push to IT-led growth in the region.The facility features a 50-seater plug-and-play workspace, along with 6,000 sq ft each of raw and semi-furnished incubation space. It also houses a 54-seat auditorium, conference rooms, advanced network operations systems, cafeteria, and other modern amenities.The officials said the centre will support IT, IT-enabled services (ITES), BPOs and startups by offering high-speed internet and robust infrastructure. The initiative is part of the state's broader strategy to promote technology-driven entrepreneurship in tier-2 cities like Gorakhpur. The IT park is expected to encourage ventures in data collection, software development and remote infrastructure management, generating new employment opportunities for local youth.
