Yadav was cremated at Ramghat in Jaunpur on June 4, though the body was brought to his parental village on June 3 night. The family members and villagers were rigid not to perform last rite until the chief minister visits the village. They agreed for the cremation when assured that the CM will make a visit to the family before ‘terahavi’.
Yadav was killed in the violence in Mathura along with Mathura SP (city) Mukul Dwivedi. He was survived by wife Mithilesh, 11-year-old son Nikhil and 9-year-old daughter Shreya. He was the sole earner of his joint family. A pall of gloom descended on his ancestral village and neighbouring areas after the news of his death was received there.
