VARANASI: In a programme organised at the commissionerate auditorium on Friday, the district panchayat president Poonam Maurya and DM S Rajalingam distributed tablets and cheques among meritorious students of classes 10th and 12th high of UP Board.

Tablets were given to nine high school students and 12 intermediate students along with a cheque of Rs 21,000. In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath handed over a cheque of Rs 1,00,000 and a tablet, along with a medal and citation to Ashutosh Kumar, a class 10th student of Varanasi.

The high school students who received tablets included Amit Yadav, Amar Kumar Maurya, Mausam Yadav, Anuj Kumar Mishra, Vidhan Singh, Nancy Ojha, Avnish Patel, Shivam Verma and Shriansh Vishwakarma. The 12 students of class 12th were Akshara Kasera, Anju Tripathi, Vaibhav Verma, Khushi Singh, Amisha Patel, Sneha Patel, Sunil Prajapati, Karishma Yadav, Karan Pal, Archana Pal, Komal Verma and Rajan Kumar.

The students also watched PM Narendra Modi's ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ and his interaction with those appearing for board exams this year. tnn
