According to reports, Shashank Rai, resident of Bhati village in Sikanderpur area of Ballia district, had gone to his maternal grandfather’s place at Semari Duddhi Patti village in Buxur on June 5. The boy went missing on June 8 while he was playing outside the house.
After looking for him at all possible places, the family members reported the matter to Semari police on the same day. On Sunday evening they received a call from some relative in Ghazipur that the body of a boy was found near a bridge. The family members went to Ghazipur and identified the body.
The Ghazipur police said that local residents noticed the body on Sunday. The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem on Monday. The postmortem report is yet to come. The matter is being investigated.
