Three soldiers including Shashank and Manoj were killed in a cross-border attack by suspected Pakistani terrorists on Tuesday. The body of one of the soldiers was
mutilated
. It is the second such incident in less than a month. Bodies of the martyrs are expected to arrive in Varanasi on Thursday.
Relatives started thronging the houses of soldiers Shashank and Manoj in Naseeruddinpur in Kasimabad and Baddhopur village of Birno, respectively as the news of their martyrdom arrived on Wednesday. Shashank was the youngest of four children. His father said Shashank's marriage was scheduled in May 2017. Manoj is survived by his mother, brother, wife and children.
