BJYM posters depict Congress leader Thakor as Ravana

on Wednesday came up with posters portraying Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor as the 10-headed demon king Ravana.

BJYM workers led by Shripati Mishra also took out procession in Kutchery area raising slogans like “Gujaratiyon se bair nahi, Alpesh Thakor teri khair nahi (No enmity with Gujaratis, Alpesh Thakor you will have it)” and accused Thakor of fanning violence in Gujarat. The poster also has the image of Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.


“Pained by attacks on people of UP and Bihar in Gujarat by the Congress workers we have portrayed

Thakor as Ravana

symbolizing the ‘rakshasi pravriti’ (demonic nature),” said Mishra He added: “This Vijaya Dashami, Rupani will give a message that that every Indian has the right to earn his living anywhere in the country.”

However, the Kashi Kshetra unit president of BJYM Rajesh Rajbhar made it clear that it was not the official programme of the organization.
