BHU scholar presents work at US univ

Varanasi: A research scholar of the department of Hindi, Banaras Hindu University, Kumud Ranjan Mishra presented his work in the recently held 20th session of the South Asia Graduate Student Conference at the University of Chicago in the US. Mishra was selected from India under the supervision of Prof Prabhakar Singh of the Hindi department and was invited as a speaker. Scholars from various countries including Canada, USA, India, Singapore and Pakistan participated in it. This year the conference was held on the theme ‘South Asian Stories and Storytelling of South Asia.’ Mishra presented his research paper on ‘Narrative and Storytelling Based on Music: A Study of a Chhattisgarh Regional Art.’ He had a detailed discussion on Bamboo song, a musical folk tale style of Chhattisgarh. tnn
