due to the pandemic scare, the celebrations this time have become cosier and personalised. Close family members and friends are making it a point to keep the

festival spirit

high by hosting get-togethers within the confines of their home.

, Varanasi based- businesswoman has already begun the preparations. “We have placed a huge Christmas tree at the entrance of our house which we have decorated together elaborately. Hanging stars, balls, ribbons, glittering lights have been used to decorate that corner of the house, giving a perfect feel of festivities. This is for the first time we have done such elaborate decorations. Earlier we used to go out and attend Christmas parties organised by various clubs but this time it is not happening because of the outbreak of Covid-19, so we have planned a bash with family members and few friends. A bonfire will be arranged on our terrace and we will have a dance party along with some good food,” she says.

based fashion designer, has planned two parties back to back at her residence. “Since we have some open space in our house we will host the bash there with a small group of friends in attendance. We also have a dress code of red, black and white and have arranged for

caps to get the perfect feel of the festival. The two parties will be arranged on two separate days, one will be for my kids’ friends and the other for my friends. As we have enough open space so proper social distancing can be maintained,” she says.
A terrace party has been arranged by Rehana Khan, a businesswoman and social activist from Prayagraj, for her close friends. “Every year a huge party used to be hosted at some of the social clubs but due to Coronvirus pandemic no such events are happening this time, so my girl gang decided to organise something on our terrace. I am sure it will be great fun as we have arranged for great music and a barbecue for some scrumptious food. Everyone will come dressed in black and red along with masks, which will be the dress code of the bash. As it will be a small group so it will be easy for us to maintain social distancing,” she says.

, a Varanasi based businessman will be part of a Christmas party planned at his friend’s property. “There is a sprawling lawn, so we all decided to organise a bash there with a closed group of buddies and their families. Though the number of attendees will be less but we have made sure that it is high on the entertainment quotient. A lot of games have been planned, since kids will also be part of the do. The decor will also have all the Christmas props. We will make sure that enough distance is maintained and proper arrangements for hand sanitizing are made,” he says.
