Alert TTE nabs impostor extorting cash on train

Varanasi: Government railway police (GRP), Varanasi, arrested a man posing at a TTE. Akhilesh Yadav was caught extorting money from passengers in the sleeper coach of train 12392 Shramjeevi express by the chief ticket examiner Awadhesh Kumar Singh.

During ticket-checking in New Delhi Rajgir Shramjivi Express (12392) on Wednesday, Awadhesh saw a men examining ticket and extorting money from passengers in a sleeper coach. When quizzed, the man failed to give any satisfactory answers to Awadhesh who informed the RPF personnel squad on duty.

During interrogation, the man said he was a resident of Alambagh, Lucknow. The RPF recovered Rs 2,020, a name plate, an NR-embossed tie and ID from him.

At Varanasi railway station, the man was handed over to GRP and booked under sections 171, 389, 411, and 420 of IPC.
