₹7.30cr property of Vijay Mishra’s relative attached in Prayagraj

A property worth Rs.730 crore belonging to a relative and an active member of a gang of jailed mafia don and former MLA Vijay Mishra was seized in Prayagraj district on Friday. The seizure was part of an ongoing drive against the economic empire of mafia and gangsters.

Varanasi: In a special drive being run by Bhadohi police and the district administration against organized criminals, a property worth Rs 7.30 crore of a relative and an active member of the gang of jailed mafia don and former MLA Vijay Mishra was seized in Prayagraj district on Friday.
A two-storey building built by Manish Mishra with the money earned from criminal acts in Handia was attached under section-14 (1) of the Gangster Act.

Bhadohi SP Anil Kumar said that under the ongoing drive agaisnt the economic empire of mafia and gangsters, a property purchased by Vijay Mishra in the name of his nephew and active gang member Manish Mishra with illegally earned money had come to light in Sarai Civil Khaptiha area under the limits of Handia police station in Prayagraj. During the valuation process by the officials of land revenue department the value of Manish Mishra’s two-storied building was assessed as Rs 7.30 crore.
The SP said that after the order given by the district magistrate of Bhadohi, Gaurang Rathi under the Gangster Act, the property was attached by the joint team of Bhadohi police and Prayagraj police.
Kumar said that at present, Manish, who has about two dozen cases of serious crimes including gangrape, NSA, hooligan, gangster, robbery, kidnapping, assault, property grabbing, forgery, extortion in his credit, is in jail. The gang leader Vijay Mishra, who is also lodged in Agra jail, has 83 criminal cases including of murder, loot, kidnapping, rape, fraud, extortion, property grabbing and others in his account.
Earlier, Vijay Mishra’s family and gang members had already faced three major actions in December. On December 4, the police had attached a property in the name of his jailed son Vishnu Mishra’s wife Rupa Mishra of Rs 11.55 crore in Lucknow. On December 12, a three-storied building of Rs 8.30 crore value of Manish Mishra in Baghambari Housing Scheme in Prayagraj was attached while on December 28 land of Rs 10.20 crore of Manish Mishra was attached in Riva in Madhya Pradesh. Police records show that before these three actions, movable and immovable properties of Rs 44.93 crore of Vijay Mishra, his family and gang members had already been attached.
