VARANASI: The city, which is hosting a month-long Kashi Tamil Sangamam, will witness the visits of several Union ministers in the next couple of days.

According to a press statement issued by the PIB, as many as five Union ministers, including external affairs minister S Jaishankar, minister for railways, communications and electronics & information technology Ashwini Vaishnav, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya, minister of information and broadcasting and youth affairs and sports Anurag Singh Thakur and minister of state for information and broadcasting L Murugan will visit the city.

While Jaishankar will be in the city on December 10 and 11 to take part in Kashi Tamil Sangamam and review the preparations for the proposed events of G-20 Summit, Vaishnaw arrived here on Friday on a two-day visit. He will inaugurate the basketball match between UP and Tamil Nadu teams being played as a part of the Sangamam on Saturday.

Mandaviya will be in the city on December 10 and 11. He will attend the two-day conclave of health ministers commemorating the “Universal Coverage Day (UHC) 2022” on December 10 and 11 at International Cooperation and Convention Centre -Rudraksh. Thakur, who is here on a two-day visit on December 11 and 12, will take part in prize distribution ceremony of T 20 and Kashi Tamil Sangamam. He will also inaugurate table tennis and other sports events organised by the Sports Authority of India. Murugan will take part in Kashi Tamil Sangamam on December 11.

Meanwhile, the 9th group of guests from Tamil Nadu took the holy bath in the Ganga at Hanuman Ghat on Friday.
