VARANASI: Three persons including a retired constable of PAC were killed in three separate road mishaps in the region on Sunday.
According to reports, Kamlesh Singh (45), a PAC constable who had taken voluntary retirement (VRS) in 2009, was living in Varanasi with his wife Neelu Singh and children Shubham and Sonu. On Friday, he, along with his family, had gone to his parental village in Rasra area in Ballia district to attend some marriage function.

On Saturday night, he was returning to Varanasi with family in an SUV (Sumo).
When the vehicle was passing through Sidhauna Bazaar area under Dildarnagar police station limits, a truck rammed into it. Kamlesh died on the spot. The driver of the truck fled leaving the vehicle abandoned. Injured Neelu and her children were referred to Varanasi.
Meanwhile, in Ballia district, one Vinod Sahani (30) of Saraibharti village under Rasra police station limits, was killed when a truck hit his motorcycle on Saturday night. The incident occurred when he was returning home after attending some marriage function in Ballia city. The locals immediately rushed him to a hospital where noticing sharp deterioration in his health, the doctors referred him to Varanasi, but he died on the way.
In another road mishap in Azamgarh district, Rajkumar (38) of Narme village under Didarganj police station limits, was killed when an SUV (Bolero) hit his motorcycle on a bridge near Ambari village under Phoolpur police station limits on Saturday night. Rajkumar died on the spot while his companion fell in the river with the motorcycle.
Boy killed: Amit, a two-year-old boy of Sagabandh village in Duddhi area, was killed after falling in water tank near his residence on Sunday. The incident took place when he was playing outside his residence.
