VARANASI: Three youths sustained severe burn injuries after coming in contact with live wires damaged during Thursday morning's rainfall in the city.
According to reports, Irfan (18), a native of Koyla Bazaar, and Imtiyaz (20) of Lullapura, sustained burn injuries after coming in contact with an electric poll in Paan Dariba area under Chetganj police station limits.
After getting injured, they fell on the waterlogged road due to which the locals could notice them very late. The Chetganj police rushed them to the SPG Hospital.
In the second incident, Pradeep (22), a native of Bihar, also sustained serious burn injuries after coming in contact with a live wire near a multiplex in Sigra area.
Reports stated that Pradeep was going somewhere with his father in the morning. When he was passing through the waterlogged multiplex road, he failed to notice the electric wire lying in the water. He was also admitted to the SPG Hospital.
In yet another incident, a couple sustained serious injuries when their house collapsed during heavy rainfall in Khalispur village under Mirzamurad police station limits on Thursday.
According to reports, Surendra Harijan and his wife Sita were in the house when the incident occurred.
They were rescued by their neighbours and admitted to a local hospital. Terrace of a barrack at Ramnagar police station also collapsed during the rainfall. Non sustained injuries in this incident.
