BALLIA: Police stated on Monday that a 19-year-old woman in a village here was allegedly raped by a youth after he forcibly entered her house. According to SHO Atul Kumar Mishra, the accused, who is a resident of the same village, allegedly entered the woman's house on Friday night when she was alone and raped her.
A case was registered against the accused for rape and lurking house trespassing by night under sections 376 and 457 of the Indian Penal Code, following a complaint from the woman's mother. The accused was arrested on Sunday, as confirmed by Mishra.
The police have sent the woman to the district hospital for a medical examination, he added.
