VADODARA: They set off for an adventurous expedition on June 9 from Vadodara and rode for over 12,300 kilometre to complete a 76-day journey that was full of surprises and difficulties. Two citizens, Kumar Shah and Hitesh Raval, recently returned to Vadodara from The Silk Odyssey that was flagged off by Gujarat minister Saurabh Patel. The duo completed their journey at Ace Café in London that is most sought after motor biking cafe in the world.
Shah and Raval faced difficulties right from the beginning as they were not allowed to pass through Nepal, Tibet and China. "Our bikes were directly sent tp Kyrgyzstan, which is a hilly terrain. The most challenging part was driving through desert terrains of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan that were lonely and had extreme weather," Raval said.
The duo passed through parts of India, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and London. "We met many motor bikers and they all supported for Save the Children cause by generously donating funds. Ace Café hosted us at the official end of our journey. I will now write a book on my experiences of the voyage," Shah added.
While the main motto of this daring voyage was to collect funds for child survival and care, the bikers also wanted to promote harmony and peace in the world and persuade people to follow their dreams and passion.
