Vadodara: Young man blackmailed for money ends life

VADODARA: A young man’s death has sparked a row after his father claimed that he had committed suicide. Mayur Patel, a resident of Fatehpura, was rushed to the hospital after he complained of uneasiness at home on Thursday.
While Patel died during the treatment, his friend Javed Garasia approached the deceased’s family members. Garasia told them that Patel was being blackmailed and threatened to return money by a couple.
Patel had already given Rs 4.50 lakh to the couple but they were demanding more, Garasia claimed.
Garasia also produced a suicide note, purportedly written by Patel, wherein he mentioned the reason for ending his life.
Patel’s father has filed an application with the City police. The cops said they will start investigation after collecting primary evidence.
