VV Nagar Woman’s ID used to plot Harjani killing

Vadodara/ Anand: Losing her voter identity card while playing garba has put a woman living in Vallabh Vidyanagar in trouble.

The card was used by some persons who were involved in plotting the murder of gangster Mukesh Harjani, who was gunned down in the city in October.

Anand town police has registered a complaint of the woman Prachi Patel, whose voter identity card was used by an accused Rajesh alias Raju Patel, a resident of Sardargunj Estate in Anand to purchase sim cards from a shop in the town. The sim cards were later used by two other accused to communicate among themselves while plotting Harjani’s murder.

Raju had purchased the sim cards from a provision store located near Swaminarayan temple. “We have registered a complaint against both Raju and provision store owner Jignesh alias Jiggo Ajwalia, who had sold the sim cards,” said R B Prajapati, police sub inspector, who is investigating the matter told TOI, on Friday. Raju had purchased the sim cards upon directions from Anil alias Anthony, a sharp shooter. The sim cards were later handed over to Omprakash alias Omi Punjabi and Sanjay Dave alias RX.
