Vadodara: Relatives of a youth who was recently murdered in Balaiya village in Dahod district staged demonstrations outside the Sukhsar police station in the district on Friday. They, along with villagers, stayed outside the police station throughout the day, demanding the arrest of the accused in the case.
Tina Sangada, a resident of Sukhsar, along with one Kalu Sangada, was beaten up on November 10 while he was returning from a court hearing. Tina (22) was rushed to a hospital where he died on November 11.
An offence was registered at Fatehpura police station against 12 persons. The accused included seven who were identified while the others were yet to be identified. None of the accused have been arrested yet.
Jhalod deputy superintendent of police D R Patel said that the accused had absconded. “The villagers stayed outside the police station till about 8pm. We spoke to them and assured them that we were doing the needful to nab the accused,” Patel said.
According to sources, the murder had its roots in a rivalry between Sangada and Katara families in the area.
