Vehicle collision leads to stone pelting

Vadodara: Collision between a bike and a scooter led to minor rioting in Dudhwalla mohalla area of Vadodara’s old city late on Saturday night. The dispute between the riders even led to stone pelting at around 11pm. After the ruckus, eateries that remain open till late night closed down instantly while police teams from Raopura, Wadi and Navapura rushed to the spot to disperse the mob.
The situation turned tense after scooter rider Kritesh Bhavsar was hit by a bike near Dudhwalla mohalla. Bhavsar in his complaint filed at Raopura police station stated that around 10.45pm on Saturday, he and his friend were returning home after having a cup of tea near Nyay Mandir.
He stated that when they were returning, a bike hit their vehicle. When Bhavsar scolded the rider, he started abusing him which led to a skirmish. Bhavsar has alleged that his friend Yash Shah was beaten up by a group that included the bike rider. Later, the group also started pelting stones. Police started patrolling in the area.
