Vadodara: Two days after their accident, youths’ bodies found from canal

village on the outskirts of Vadodara city, their bodies were found on Wednesday morning around seven kilometres away from the accident spot.

Local swimmers found the body of

Gopal Parmar

(21) and Vaibhav Valand (26) towards Padra on Monday morning. Sources said that the duo’s bodies were sighted as they were floating in the water.

On Monday after the accident, local swimmers and firemen unsuccessfully searched for them till late evening. Personnel from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also joined the search but they could not get any leads. As the bodies were found on Wednesday, these were sent to SSG Hospital for post-mortem and will be handed over to their family members later during the day.

Valand and Parmar along with 16-year-old

Laxman Parmar

had fallen in the canal along with their bike as Valand had lost control over the two-wheeler. Laxman was saved as he was rescued by a passer-by, but the two others had been dragged away by strong water currents. Valand and Parmar were going to their workplace at Gorwa BIDC estate in the city. Laxman had tagged along as he wanted to see the duo’s workplace
