VADODARA: Four persons including three from the city were booked by Dahod police for allegedly cheating persons aspiring for jobs in the M S University (MSU) to the tune of over Rs 25lakh.
Raman Patel, a resident of Dahod, filed a complaint against Rahul Patel, Shailesh Solanki and Hardik Joshi from Vadodara for allegedly cheating his son of Bhavin Patel of Rs 11,50,000 by promising a clerical job in the MSU.
Raman stated that later he came to know that another person Manish Katara had paid Rs 14,00,000 to the accused for a similar job.
The accused had come in contact with Bhavin last year and promised him the job. They took money from him in instalments at various stages.
Later, the accused also gave him a forged appointment letter for the job at MSU. However, they kept asking him to delay his joining.
It later transpired that the letter was forged and MSU had not issued any such order. The accused also promised to give money back to the complainant but did not do so.
An offence was registered by the Dahod A Division police station regarding the fraud. Rahul Patel and Solanki were arrested in connection with the offence.
